The following role descriptions for the Lee Township Grant Committee, Township Hall Caretaker, and Lee Township Park Caretaker are available for the current term/season. Grant Committee:

The purpose of the grant committee is to identify funding opportunities and coordinate efforts to submit grant applications for township maintenance requirements, asset acquisition, or new project opportunities, and report accordingly.
Term: 2 years
Pay: Current meeting per diem, as determined by the Lee Township board.
Meet: Monthly

Township Hall Caretaker:

The purpose of the Township Hall caretaker is to maintain and provide building cleaning needs for the Lee Township Hall. This included weekly general cleaning requirements, as well as after each hall rental.
Weekly and/or after each event (Reservation)
Term: 2022 Season, ending March 2023
Pay: $75/ per weekly cleaning and per rental cleaning
Duties:

  • Empty trash in all restrooms, unlocked offices, meeting room and hall areas.
  • Check parking lot, pavilion, grill area, flower beds and grounds for debris or trash.
  • RENTALS: Check for potential damages, missing tables/chairs, items in the kitchen, items not put away including tables/chairs, all trash should be emptied, hall key is returned.
  • Clean and disinfect sinks, counters, cabinets, refrigerator/freezer, (ensure proper settings), and change dust mop head.
  • Notify the Supervisor if anything needs to be discussed to withhold the renter’s deposit.
  • Check flag pole-make sure flag is not frayed or stringy, and watch for wear on ropes.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms (toilets/urinals, counters, sinks, doors, walls, changing stations) replace paper supplies, empty sanitary trash cans replace bags, clean mirrors, and wipe down paper towel dispensers, and soap dispensers.
  • Sweep and Mop floors, including hallways, restrooms, kitchen, and main hall.
  • Vacuum rugs at doorways and all unlocked offices.
  • Take all rags/towels/oven mitts in a bucket, plus dust mops, cleaning rags, mop heads and run through washer. Do not use softener on dust mop or on cleaning rags. Use bleach on dust mops and rags/towels.
  • Wash windows and sills, inside and out (weather permitting), along with all mirrors and glass in doors.
  • Check light bulbs, replace them when needed.
  • Clean tables, chairs, racks, door handles, switches, counters, refrigerator, oven, microwave, sinks etc.
  • Maintain supplies.

Lee Township Park Caretaker:

The purpose of this role is to provide daily cleaning and maintenance of the Lee Township Park, including the bathrooms, pavilions, playscape, parking lots, and baseball diamonds.
Learn and have the ability to “back up” the Splash Pad Caretaker position.
Pay: $1,000 per month
Term: 2022 Season.
The season begins April 1st – September 30th
Duties:

  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, which includes: toilets, urinals, sinks, all fixtures, baby changing station, products and waste baskets, mop floors
  • Pick-up debris and Cigarette butts
  • Provide and clean cigarette butt cans
  • Wash all picnic tables and benches as needed
  • Sweep or blow off pavilion floors, sidewalks, and bathroom approach
  • Check playground equipment for damage and lose railings
  • Pick-up trash at ball diamond area
  • Keep ditches free of debris, spray weed control on ditch bottoms when needed
  • Keep ditch banks at the park area trimmed
  • Maintain weed control on the playground, parking lots and baseball diamonds.
  • Rake and/or grade ball diamonds, parking lots as needed.
  • Maintain necessary supplies from approved supplier
  • Clean barbecue grills as needed
  • Maintain Flag at ball diamonds
  • Ensure weekly trash is available for curbside pickup on each Friday.
  • Touch up paint on pavilions, playscape, etc…

Notify towing service on vehicles left unattended after hours.
Park Caretaker is also responsible for taking and managing reservations for the park pavilion.
